Chalet Hay is a traditional style French mountain grange, over 400 years old and lovingly restored to a superb 4 bedroom mountain retreat with wonderful views up and down the stunning Campan Valley.

Chalet Hay is a short transfer from local airports, only a one hour drive from Pau or Lourdes airport, or just two hours from Toulouse or Biarritz airport

This area of the Pyrenees has lots to offer; an exquisite spa, excellent downhill and cross-country skiing, challenging Tour de France routes for road cyclists, lots of walks for all abilities, great restaurants, a golf club with panoramic mountain views and the famous Pic De Midi observatory just to mention a few.

The Chalet

Chalet Hay is in the small French village of Gripp. Gripp is conveniently located only a 10 minute drive away from the Pyrenees largest ski resort La Mongie, 5 minutes away from the amenities of the small town Marie St Campan and only 20 minutes away from the spa town of Bagneres-de-Bigorre.

he Chalet is near La Mongie, within a 10 minute drive of all its local services and amenities that are required to make your holiday complete. This includes bars, restaurants, tourist office, deli, take-aways, supermarket, cash points and various shops.

Chalet Hay is a 4 bedroom, 9 person traditional Pyrenees chalet, comprising of 3 double rooms and a bunk room with 3 single sized beds, fully equipped kitchen, dinning area, breakfast bar, lounge and upstairs snug area. There is a large log burner in the lounge area with a 42″ TV, DVD player, xbox and games.

FAQS

Are the roads scary driving to chalet hay?

Not at all. The chalet is located high in the Campan valley at 1000m altitudes, because the chalet is in the valley, there are no mountain passes or steep inclines to drive through. Driving from the chalet to La Mongie is on smooth, well looked after road even in bad weather.

Is there wi-fi in chalet hay?

Yes and its free. we have an Amazon firestick and xbox games console connected for you to use.

What is the local ski area?

The local ski resort to chalet hay is La Mongie (10 minutes from the chalet by car), La Mongie makes up half of the Domain du Tourmalet, the other half being Bareges. In total the resort has 120km of skiing under one lift pass.

Are all heating costs are included in the price?

Yes, all heating, hot water, water and electric is included in the rental price, we also provide a basket of wood for the log burner and run a honesty box system for any extra wood you may wish to use.

What are the main summer Attractions in the area

The High Pyrenees are fantastic in the summer. The Pic Du midi, Gavarnie, Pont d'Espagne are all with an hours drive and great days out.
